welcome to a page that probably isn’t listed on my website.
i’m a dallas-based urban geographer, photographer, and musician that has called dfw home for my whole life. exploring the corners of north texas and beyond always gives me a fun time, and helps me observe, experience, and understand the weird interconnected world we find ourselves on. i have worked primarily in the nonprofit world, with organizations like buildingcommunityWORKSHOP and Child Poverty Action Lab (CPAL), and currently consult with nonprofit organizations focused on climate resilience and environmental causes. while i have enjoyed that world, at times, i think of myself more as an aging punk with a camera, a good record collection, and a drive to see more of everything.
so, why ohand.space? well, “oh, and” sounds a lot like owen. and i, owen, often say “oh, and…” when talking about… almost anything. this is my space to share some of the bits of my personal art, music, some professional stuff (maybe) in some sort of archival // documentarian sort of sense. curatorial?
you’ll find a few things:
recent photographs (let’s say from the last two years, more or less)
photo projects (‘walls’ is always the closest, ‘high at work’ is close, but lets not put a timer on these)
maps (one’s i’ve made, one’s i love, one’s i’ve snapped photos of)
writing (that i have done since leaving my 9-5, on a wide range of topics from a variety of points-of-view and states of formality and composure or lack thereof)
art, maybe (drawings, watercolors, paintings, etc.)
zines and things for sale (because why not!? starting small with a few made-to-order DIY photo zines and maybe going larger with other stuff but who cares about any of that anyway?)
lists (playlists, favorite episodes lists, things to not lost track of in order)
ultimately if you find yourself reading this, welcome. you’ve passed the first test?
are there tests?
